Waterkloof sits just below the ridge itself, and it reads that way — older, established, jacaranda-lined streets where a lot of the original 1960s and '70s architecture is still standing, embassy residences among it. Those homes tend to carry smaller, more conventional windows than their newer ridge-top neighbours, which usually means the interior blind range does most of the work rather than exterior systems.
The other half of Waterkloof is newer: full renovations and rebuilds that open the back of an older stand up entirely, adding the double-volume glass and wide sliders more typical of the ridge above it. Those projects want the same orientation-first thinking we use throughout the area — read the glass before choosing the product, not the other way round.
Old windows and new glass walls, sometimes on the same street.

- Sunscreen & blockout rollers — the default for original windows and for new glass alike, chosen fabric by fabric per room.
- Cellular / honeycomb blinds — genuine insulation value on older single-glazed frames still common on the mature stands.
- External venetians — specified on the newer, glass-heavy renovations opening up toward the garden.
